2025-26 Season - six sessions (11/15/25, 11/22/25, 12/6/25, 1/3/26, 1/10/26, 1/17/26)
7th-12th graders in String, Concert, or Symphony
All instruments
A six-session course in the foundations of creative music making. Participants will gain comfort and experience in creative practices on their instrument such as improvising and composing. No prior improvising or composing experience is necessary. Ideal students should be willing to find new sounds on their instruments, take risks, try new things, and be keen for discovery. Students will record a final video to share with family and friends.
The instrument will be inspected, adjusted, and cleaned professionally at the end of the season.
Travel dates: 6/21/2026 - 6/24/2026
Carnegie Hall performance: 6/23/26 @ 8pm
Estimated trip cost: $2100-$2300
This is the first deposit to hold a space. All payments are nonrefundable. Four remaining payments (three @ $450 each, and one final payment with the remaining balance) will be assessed based on the schedule on the Carnegie Hall webpage.
All new students receive one music binder their first day!
Students wishing to replace their music binder can order one here for rehearsal delivery. 1” 3-ring binder with pockets.
After registering you will receive a specific audition time, about 1 week prior to the audition. Remember to bring an extra copy of your music to the audition!
$100 Scholarship available for French Horn and Bassoon.
